Sand all parts. Test fit all parts

Do not glue any gears, they are all friction fit
Glue replica spring to frame. The 4 holes may need to be reamed for the 4 protrusions to fit. Test fit before gluing

Assemble and spray paint with gold color paint. Do not apply too much paint, as it could cause the gears to be too tight. Just a light dusting of paint. Wait till paint is cured to rotate gears and dust the gears where they had previously been touching.
For best results use gel super glue
